Treasury warns of DigiD fraud
The tax office has received reports of attempts to swindle people out of their DigiD and password. In doint this fraudsters could divert allowances and supplements to themselves.
The fraudsters send emails asking for the DigiD and password, claiming to be able to help people receive their allowances quickly.
In one of the fake emails somebody was even threatened with legal action if they did not surrender their information. The tax office have already alerted the FIOD and stressed that information should never be given by email or telephone.
