Herman Ruijter

Herman handles income tax returns, corporate tax returns and objection procedures. He is now head of returns and thus oversees the rest of the tax return staff. He arrives by train from Zandvoort and then walks to the office in just under 15 minutes.

‘The vacancy for this job on Indeed immediately appealed to me: a job at cloudbased, paperless office, serving interesting clients such as start-ups in digital development. Because of their refreshing outlook, I think these are fun clients to work for. I wrote a cover letter and soon I had two nice interviews. After that, things moved quickly.

Everyone here is very open. The atmosphere is informal; I no longer have to wear a suit. It is a beautiful office with a view of Amsterdam’s bustling city centre. We have lunch together. If you don’t feel like bringing lunch, you can go to one of the many restaurants in the neighbourhood to get a nice lunch.

I work here four days and also take care of our daughters (8 and 16) one day. In my spare time, I do CrossFit. My girlfriend and I love travelling: we travelled around Australia for 2.5 months last year with the kids. Furthermore, we like to eat in Michelin-starred restaurants.’
